This week has been a landmark in a number of respects. Spring has actually arrived. We can see beds of flowers now and buds on some of the trees. The temperature is not warm by any of your standards, but after the cold winter we have experienced, it is almost warm.
The other great event (not to take anything away from Teresa’s or Kirsten’s birthday) was the birth of Dash Zariwny. We have waited for this event since we left home in July. It is a great blessing to have him here. There is more of him than we expected, but all the more to love. We haven’t been able to hold him, but we did see him sleep on Skype. For obvious reasons, we broke the tradition of having all the family in the delivery room for the birth of the kids and the grandkids. We experienced a bit of homesickness.
We celebrated the birth at the Temple. We took 32 chocolate covered cream balls together with a photo of the baby, and invited all who wanted to go to the kitchen and see the photo and enjoy a Flødebolle. There were only six left by the time we left the Temple.

We have had special feelings about this little guy from the beginning; from the first blessing to the present. He is a spirit that should be paid attention to. During the past nine months, whenever reasons were given to be concerned about him, and there were more than a few, we received calm peaceful promptings. He is being watched over for good reasons. We should all keep an eye on him.
Nothing more important occurred this week, so I will close now. Watch the film of the Danish Royal Guard marching for Dash's Birthday.

He sure is a cutie & according to Kerry, was never small enough for the newborn diapers, or the hospital onsies.
ReplyDeleteAre those chocolates the traditional celebratory treat after the birth of babies? They look yummy.
Missed you at the hospital, but it was so fast (being a scheduled C-section) that it wasn't the fun hours of waiting & playing cards.
Of course Kyton was just one floor up, so I popped in to say hi. They had a specialist in teaching them about their new life, so I couldn't stay long.
It was a very busy St Patricks Day.
Miss you,
Lis
Thanks for the tribute, Dad! Although he wasn't a measely 10 lbs 11 oz - He was a whoppin' 10 lbs 12.5 ozs. :o)
ReplyDeleteWe missed you both at the hospital, so much!! Can't wait for you to meet this lucky lad in person.
Love you!!
